Since the Fort Belvoir Chapter of AFCEA Industry Day in April 2008, vendor interest in Army's Information Technology Services – Small Business (ITS-SB) opportunity has quickly increased. “The Army is looking to small businesses to fill in the gaps left by the two ITES contracts. INPUT further reviews what happens to programs which continue to appear on the MWL. » Read Blog

Once OMB has selected a program for the MWL, federal officials have to act quickly to correct the weaknesses. And, even with many other oversight bodies affecting federal programs (Congress, Government Accountability Office and the Inspector General,) OMB manages to ensure that the Management Watch List and High Risk Lists are taken seriously. However, as always, some federal agencies have been better than others in improving troubled programs.” -Jeremy Potter, Senior Analyst, Federal Homeland Security Opportunities

New Law Likely to Boost Electronic Health Record Efforts

Congress overwhelmingly passes a bill preventing discrimination via genetic information by insurers and employers, which the President is almost certain to sign. » Read Blog

The fear that the information in electronic health records would somehow be used to adjust insurance rates or bar employment was one of the major privacy challenges to EHR programs. This legislation should go a long way to remove this chilling effect and assure citizens that their health histories will only be used to make their health care safer, more efficient and effective.” -Richard Colven, Vice President, Industry Analysis
